Mavericks will be co-ordinating three competition classes upon sponsorship, as part of our annual International Civilian Space Competition. Each class will consist of specific competition categories, developed to drive the innovation, technology, and solve key problems in areas of civilian space exploration. You need to be a active professional member to compete, or a associate, corporate, or institutional member to attend the competition.
The SOUNDING ROCKET CLASS competitions, will focus on driving innovation on the most critical challenge of civilian space travel today: Suborbital Flight. Mavericks will be seeking sponsors for four competition categories, with specific competition rules related to deploying scientific and exploration payloads repeatedly above minimum altitudes of 30K, 60K, 100K, and 380K Ft. MSL. Prize money for these competitions will be announced and rules will be posted upon attainment of sponsorship for each competition. Project registration and airframe qualification will be required for each entrant, prior to acceptance to competitions.
The PLANETARY RESEARCH PAYLOAD CLASS competitions will award prize monies that drive the development of probes and experiementation payloads that deliever answers to key scientific questions regarding the earth and other plantetary systems. Many of these payloads also provide needed realworld experience for students in designing and flying a real payload mission.
The AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CLASS competitions will award prize monies that drive the development of autonomous and remote telemetry controlled planetary vehicles, including rovers and UAV drones, that assist in experimentation and planetary exploration. Many of these rovers also provide needed realworld experience for students in designing and deploying a real rover mission.
